In May 2004, Nikon released the Coolpix 5200, promising outstanding image quality in a compact body. The camera features Nikon's special ED lens designed to reduce chromatic aberrations while providing clear and color-rich pictures. With the Coolpix series and its popular "Scene" and "Assist" modes, Nikon has become known for making photography easy and rewarding. At about $400, the Coolpix 5200 is a bit above the average price for current competing 5 megapixel compact cameras.
